Here's a few pic's. When I bought the truck, the PO threw in a 3.55 ring and pinion. Drove over to a mechanic about 2 weeks ago. I might be regretting that decision.

Don't know where Ive been. I just noticed this site for TEXAS. Just wanted to say there are a bunch of us down here in the San Antonio area. If you are in San Antonio on a Friday night and in the area of IH35 and Hwy 1604, there is always a Friday night car show at Biff Buzby's burgers. Lots of cars old and new. Lots of Chevys and then there are fords and others. Just a heads up.

Hello fellow Texans,
Even though it may show that I live in Az, I'm still a Texan. I was born in Ft. Stockton but I have lived through out Texas; from Odessa-Midland to Corpus Christi to Lubock and all the other little towns in between. Now that I am a little older, I have traveled abroad in support of our great Nation.

I have a 1939 that I picked up from El Paso on Nov 07 and it is currently in pieces, literally. I am slowly getting all the parts I need to make it a self propelled chassis. The truck is not original, for example the engine that came with it (not as advertised) is a 54 235. But, it all doesn't matter any how, because it is slowly coming together....

Again,
Howdy! Looking forward to meeting up with you all sometime in the future to either break bread, tell stories, buy or trade parts, give and receive advise, and most of all, share time with fellow bolters.

I've passed this many times headed for Stillwater and wanted to stop and check it out. I didn't know they had a website. It's a few miles north of Denton between Denton and the Red River.

Guys here is the one I was hunting. Write up is in swap meet

My bad it is in Oklahoma.
Hey guys, I found this junkyard a few weeks ago while I was in Tulsa on business. The owners name is Tom Myers. I bought some parts off of him and he is a nice guy. I had my camera so I shot a video. I figured someone may spot a truck or part they need. The yard is about 95% chevy trucks. He has 2 acres with 2 buildings and he said he is looking to sell the whole business. If you see something you need give him a call. His # is 918-542-3871. SEE YA! Mark

picked up a Texas '59 Fleetside 283 4spd in August, lots of minor dents, can you recommend a good reasonable body shop in Dallas or I'd like to learn how to do body work if any Texas Stovebolters are interested. Thanks.

Jim - I was going to put a new fuel tank in to eliminate the chance of rust or flakes from the original tank getting into the fuel system. Is this a good idea and should I just go with a LMC reproduction tank or is there a better vendor choice? The truck is at my job location so I'll IM when I get it home.

If the truck has been sitting up for a while I would disconnect the line from the tank and look at what comes out. If it is clear and clean go ahead and drain it and add 5 gallons to it. It should be OK. If you want you can bolt on a Fram fuel filter down on the frame. If, when you drain the fuel it's dirty I would consider a new tank as most cleaning and refreshing tanks can be less than perfect and can get a bit expensive using the coatings folks seem to use. Re. LMC "reproduction" tank. I didn't use the cab mounted tank. Instead I bought an aluminum tank and installed it in the rear between the rails. For that reason I am not a good subject for information on cab mount tanks.
