Hi.
Started up the old truck first time after winter. Dripping oil from oiltube, the upper one that comes from the oil filter. I have an external one. seems like the oil gauge is connected also to the same spot where the tube enters the engine block. I have wiped it off, and it's hard to see where it leaks.
Thinking maybe it's just the tube being dry. Can't see that it's leaking where the oil gauge tube enters, and not in the the tube fitting in the block either. STILL it's dripping. Any good idea anyone ?

It leaks from the upper one, not the front lower one. And the filter is dry all around.

If you have a leaking fitting, my guess is that you should carefully remove the tube, clean and inspect the mating surfaces, and put the tube back on.

You refer the "upper one" not the "lower one". Not that it really matters, but are you referring to the upper fitting on one of the tubes that goes into the top of the canister filter?

I will do that...

The tube I refer to i the one letting oil back in and it's placed a little bit further to the rear and a bit higher.
I added a picture to show. You see it on the arrows.

I suspect a dry hose since it seems strange that a hard fitting can start leaking all of a sudden. But it be because I removed the intake and exhaust manifolds to change gaskets, and had to remove the oil filter. The tube or fitting might have gotten a bend that made something break. Will check on saturday. Thanks

Leak was an easy fix smile
Was the oil gauge tube that was loose !!
Just half a turn and no leak !!

I just love these easy fixes
