For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 30 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 30 | The soapy water was the trick getting the vent window rubber around the door opening. It's not perfect, but it's going to have to be good enough. I May lay a 3" bead of black RTV along the botton on the outside. My dad did the same thing years ago, now I know why. Thanks for all the help everyone. Jay | | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 30 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 30 | Second door done in two days! Soapy water is the ticket to getting the rubber to go where you want it, and a thick steel plate in the vise is the best "bucking bar" for peening over the rivets with just two hands. It just so happened that I had a plate about a square foot and about the same thickness as the window. All cleaned up and ready to drive to work tomorrow. Thanks to all my helpers out there!
