I have a problem I could use some help with. I have a new clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing. There is 1/2inch play between the throwout bearing and the pressure plate fingers. There is not enough adjustment in the linkage to remove this. The pedal engages at about 1.5 inches from the floor. Thoughts advice. I bought this as a kit from the Filling Station and will not be a happy camper if its the wrong setup. The first couple pictures on my photobucket show what I have. Let me know what you think.

I just put my tranny back in the 45 myself today so this is pretty fresh in my mind. Your throw out bearing looks correct, it is the long style identical to mine. My set up does not use a nut on the back side of the throw out arm like you have in your picture. Get rid of that nut and you'll have enough thread left in the hook to take up the slack. While your pedal pivot is a little different then mine I believe it still works the same way. Remember that the clutch pedal needs a certain amount of free play Before the pedal / linkage engages the T O bearing. On my 45 the free play called for is 1 1/4"

I'll try a few things. How much travel do you have in the clutch fork? I have about 1/2 to 5/8 space between the bearing and pressure plate fingers. Where does your clutch pedal spring connect? Also is there a return spring on the master cy. and where does it connect. I should have taken more photos. Thank you for your time.

On mine the clutch pedal spring connects to a metal bracket off the frame in front off the pedal pivot. I've also seen some that connect to a bracket off the motor. My brake return spring connects to a little sheet metal tab attached to the top back corner bolt of my 4 speed transmission.

I'm not sure what you are asking about travel, are you asking what the distance is from the T O B to the pressure plate fingers when the the clutch is adjusted and the free play is set?

Yes the TOB to the pressure plate fingers. Just curious. If it too much trouble don't worry about. Thanks again.

I'll adjust mine all the way to the open hook and see if its close to the correct pedal travel.

No. A person from the filling station said he thought I had the clutch disc in backward and to pull it out and turn it around. Right like that is easy. It does not change the thickness? Right now mine is at about 1.5 inch pedal free play. Thinking about this I believe as the disc wears the pressure plate fingers will extend toward the Throw out bearing. I think it will be fine. Question for you. Do you know how the brake pedal spring is attached? Was there one. Also is there supposed to be a spring under the gas pedal? I can send pictures if it helps. There are some on my photobucket.

I've seen on some clutch disks there is a shoulder on one side of the disk, the other side is flush. Thus one side is the flywheel side the other is the pressure plate. Check the tech section on t5 transmissions for pics. This may be what the Filling Station tech is talking about.

Regarding the brake return spring, on one of my 46s the brake spring comes off a tab connected to a corner bolt on my 4 speed the other half attached to the brake arm. This is a pretty strong spring because of the angle. On my second 46 I recently attached a spring to the bolt connecting my brake pedal to the Master cylinder plunger. The other end stretched forward to the tab connecting the clutch return spring. This is a piece of sheet metal coming off the cab or frame area if I can recall. The sheet metal looks factory so I think that's what it is made for.

Hi Rick. I just posted a question on a fuel line routing. I noted in the old post a picture of the clutch spring. It has a length of hard wire attaching it to the Master Cy. Bolt. This makes sense. I don't have that wire piece.

I also noted in the photo's the clutch adjustment is at the same position we were describing.
