If so how has it been for you. Im waiting for my tax return and when that baby comes in im going to be replacing the intake, exhaust manifold.
also i found out last night while rebuilding my carb that the float was bent and worst of all while removing the throttle body from the float bowl i was hearing a rattle, i thought ok maybe a check ball never came out, turned it upside down and nothing. so i continued taking the throttle body off and low and behold the two TINY screw holing the butterfly had somehow snapped off right at the top and the butterfly was somehow still resting on what was left of the screws. any ideas on what i can do with this as well please let me know.

The old screws may generally be removed by using a diamond burr from the head side to make a centered pilot hole, and then use a very DULL drill bit to "hang" in the screw. When the bit hangs, the screw will then screw out the opposite side.
Floats are also available.

Bought the carbs and linkage from Langdon and mounted them on a Fenton dual intake. | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I'm partial to the Holley model 1904, which is primarily an International and (dare I say it? Ford carb. It also saw use on some GMC engines in the late '50s/early '60s. It does require some alteration, as the throttle lever is backwards for a Chevy, unless you can get lucky and find the GMC inline 6 version. Easy to overhaul, and the jets are the same as the later 2 and 4 bbl Holleys, so they're very easy (and cheap) to find. Another good choice is the Carter YF. You just have to watch what it comes from. There's some out there that are Ford variants that will run way too rich on a Chevy, some rebuilders will stick them in boxes marked for the Chevy carb.
