The Technical Tip section says the 1961 235 engine will interchange. I would like to use the front on the 1961 & keep the front plate on my older engine for a rebuild. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 | Those bolts can be a challenge to get a wrench on when the balancer is in place and in the truck so I like to make the holes square as was original in many cases. To do this drill the 4 corners first with a small bit, then drill out the center and file until a 7/16” carriage bolt fits snug.
