Got around to taking a good look at it yesterday and found what I think might be a show stopper. The ports on the Tattersfield are about 1/16” smaller than the intake ports on my motor. The motor is from a 54 ½ ton. I’d guess this duel carb intake is for a 216 or an early 235. My question is am I hosed or can I have a machine shop mill the Tattersfield intake port to fit the head. It looks like there is plenty of thickness on the manifold to do so. Or make a set of step down intake sealing rings. I love the look of the Tattersfield old school intake and would sure like to be able to make it work. Thanks’ for any help. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Sounds like you can use it if you want to it just takes a little more work than you first expected.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 | you could take a die grimder or rotory tool and hog them out to the correct size, in the performance world they call this gasket matching. do a search on the web for gasket matching or porting and you will get some ideas on how its done. just make sure to be careful and not take to much material at a time. good luck. mo

Seems that this issue is not a new one. Step down sealing rings are available. Also found out that the 216 ring will fit inside the 235's ring. Not the big deal I was thinking it was.
