Ive got a 54' w/ a 235 and a "roch b" and I am curious what the preliminary settings for the mix scerw and the throttle screw should be.

As a past owner of two of them I know there are a ton of postings dealing with them. Pay close attention to "CarbKing's" posts as he is a "guru" on old carbs.

Start with the mixture screw out about 2 turns from bottoming. Start the engine & set the idle speed about where you want it. Slowly turn the mixture screw in till the engines starts slowing down. then back it out to a point where it runs smoothest, usually 1/2 turn. Reset the idle speed if it has changed any. It,s good to go over the mixture adjustment after it has been driven awhile & is warm.
