Just got my sale flyer from Brothers. Showing an underbed tank for '60-'62. Don't recall the major vendors offering one before? Pricey (even on sale) but would like to hear how good the fittage is if anyone bites.

I do not know What you call pricy but a good Stainless tank will run you $700.00 to $750.00. Aluminum tanks are around $600.00
to $650.00.
I like the Stainless tank for the this reason Stronger, more durable than Aluminum.
The one thing that I see more and more everyday is the top mount fuel filler which I personally do not like. The reason being you have to drag the damm hose over to the bed filler which may mean rubbing the paint or spilling fuel on the paint. Aluminum tanks corrode on the inside just like metal tanks where as Stainless tanks are much more durable in many ways. Just my opinion here.

When I swapped to an under bed tank my truck was being built as a long distance daily driver, so I wanted all the fuel capacity available without hanging down too low. Rock Valley built a custom tank to my specifications for $550, back in 1998. I’m not sure what the same tank would cost today.

The only mistake I made was mounting a tight elbow on top of the tank to connect the fuel fill. The elbow caused fuel to kick back and shut off the nozzle. Filling the tank took forever, so modifications were in order. Details can be seen on posts #11 and #22 of the following link:

Post #50 shows the aircraft cap that replaced the fender/neck fill.

Here’s what the tank looks like from the rear. Despite the capacity, it really does tuck up nice and tight:
