I am trying to find what will work on my 1 ton panel van. I put tires on my 17 inch split rims but I was having trouble with one tire. They are not easy to work on so now I think the right thing to do is put new rims on. I need to keep the rims at 17 inch because I have the new tires. I found some rims but when I put them on the hub sticks out and the chev hub caps will not go on. Are there other hub caps that will go on these rims or do I need to change the rims. Any help would be great!! This has been the hardest thing to do on this truck so far. Will be glad when I get this part done. Thanks

Any GM, Ford or Mopar of the pre-metric period will work on the truck. I doubt you'll find any that will take stock hubcaps.

I have the same rims on my 1941 1 Ton Pick up. What made them hard to work on?

I derusted mine, cleaned them up and put the new tires on myself after painting them.

There are companies that will take your stock center sections and weld modern 16" radial rims in place of the original split-rim parts.
