For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 74 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 74 | I am trying to find what will work on my 1 ton panel van. I put tires on my 17 inch split rims but I was having trouble with one tire. They are not easy to work on so now I think the right thing to do is put new rims on. I need to keep the rims at 17 inch because I have the new tires. I found some rims but when I put them on the hub sticks out and the chev hub caps will not go on. Are there other hub caps that will go on these rims or do I need to change the rims. Any help would be great!! This has been the hardest thing to do on this truck so far. Will be glad when I get this part done. I doubt you'll find any that will take stock hubcaps. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 237 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 237 | I have the same rims on my 1941 1 Ton Pick up. What made them hard to work on?
I derusted mine, cleaned them up and put the new tires on myself after painting them. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 | There are companies that will take your stock center sections and weld modern 16" radial rims in place of the original split-rim parts. | | |
