For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Seems like most I've seen lately on ebay and CL are selling in the $2500-$3500 range 49_COE (3) | | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 5 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 5 | Excellent. Thanks. How do these things do with a 4bt and upgraded running gear? If I gut the running gear are they resale or scrap?
Far as price how rare are these? A lot of people looking for them? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | not really that rare and very few folks would be interested, you'd be waiting a long time to find a buyer .... how it would do with a different driveline would depend on how well you did it and what you want to use it for .... the removed driveline would be scrap

The people that buy them buy them because they love them, not all that much demand. Compared to 1/2 tons they are more expensive and complicated to restore and tire prices alone will eat your lunch.
That said one of these days I'd like a COE and if you lived up the road frome me I'd be kicking the tires and asking ?"How much?"

They are "Rare" compared to the more common conventional(long hood) truck, & usually sell for alittle more than a conventional in the same shape. Nowadays they are most popular with the Streetrod crowd, & are mainly used by them as Streetrod haulers. I've seen non restored COE sheetmetal bring well above scrap price on ebay many times. Streetrodders would much rather buy them in pieces, than complete trucks. Streetrodders will subplant the sheetmetal(ie:cab) on later model chassis, so the original chassis is of no need. All this said, if you desire to sell (for most $), go over to the H.A.M.B website, & advertise it, to the Streetrod/Ratrod folks, & see what happens. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Check out the engine, if it is a 261(looks just like 235 w/ large oil filter), that is more desireable, people here would be interested.

I was going to use it to tow my quads and or samurai for hunting and maybe a travel trailer. But I think it might be a tad bit expensive.
What would be a good starting price to advertise? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Man, that is a beauty. I wished I had a big property and lived nearby! Some of the running parts are really scarce. Good brake drums are something that should never be put to scrap. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 5 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 5 | It's complete for sure. Engine looks perfectly complete. I am torn whether or not to sell it. It is untouched. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 37 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 37 | What would be a good starting price to advertise? I would put that truck on ebay with a $1 first bid no reserve. By the time you're at $1000 you'll have over a dozen bids. With the dry climate you and the truck are from, I bet it fetches $2500 or more. Nice thing about ebay....it'll sell for sure. Otherwise I'll stick with my earlier estimate..that truck seems like $2500-$3500 in the current market for a very solid truck. Considerably less if rust anywhere but in the lower rear cab corners
