Hey, Guys,
I thought I could solve any mechanical problem . . . until now. My '59 Apache has 4-wheel power-disc brakes with a new '79 Corvette master cylinder/booster (in the stock under-the-floor location), plus later-model power steering. My rig has this strange new problem: It stops on a dime when going straight, BUT when I turn the steering wheel most of the way in either direction the brake pedal goes almost to the floor. At first I thought it might somehow be due to the power steering demands, but that makes no sense.
I examined the brake line hook-up and noticed that the front brake lines are connected to the second MC brake chamber from the booster, with the rear brakes connected to the first chamber. NOTE: The MC chambers are the same size and 2-psi proportioning valves are in each circuit.
Is it possible that this hook-up sequence actually makes a difference? I never thought so, but something has to be the cause.
Thanks!

Hy Apache Kid, I'll be honest, my experience with disc/disc systems is extremely limited, however I will offer some thoughts. I imagine that there is some kind of a compensating valve in the system to keep the rear brakes from locking up on braking. If that valve was plumbed backwards it would actually give you less apply pressure to the front brakes, but that should happen in each stop situation. I don't understand the connection between the front wheel position (turning) and the position of the brake pedal. Good luck, and please keep us posted on what you find, so we can put it in our mental problem solving memory
