I bought a new steering wheel for my 65 C20 When I took off the old Wheel I found a mess. I doubt the column in here was meant for this truck. It was installed with a hammer I am sure. I can pull the steering shaft out four inches or so. It does not inspire confidence.
I found a Column out of a 65 C10 on ebay. Is replacing a Column a big deal requiring special tools? Will the C10 column fit and work in a C20? How long should I expect the job to take? Thanks

The C10, C20, C30, K10, K20 steering columns are interchangeable...3-speed to 3-speed, 4-speed to 4-speed, automatic to automatic. You will need a 16 pt x 7/16" socket (rag joint bolt), tie rod fork (rag joint @ steering box), steering wheel puller, 3/4" socket (steering wheel nut), phillips screw driver, 1/2" socket, 7/16" socket, rachet, 5/16" nut driver and maybe a few other small hand tools, depending on how the column was installed. The column assembly, minus the steering wheel, will pull through the opening in the firewall and out through the cab, in one piece.
