Now that im boxing the frame, what did you fellas use for the trans mount and rear 1/3rd.
I noticed some use an "x" configuration and some just use a ladder setup.(like stock)
Its a 400sb,700r4,373 rear leaf/mii setup.
i'm not sure which way to go.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Barry.

hi probird, i havent finished boxing yet but i used a tube type trans mount off ebay. i plan on boxing the frame from the very front to the very back. even the openings on the front and back of the rails. i might change my trans mount to a one off piece just because i dont like the look of it. i am also going to change the radiator crossmember. thinking about using some rectangular tubing to make these. probably going to build my own shock mount across the rear out of the same material. i still have some hurdles to jump before i start my boxing and fabbing of these crossmembers. anyway that is what i have planned and done so far. hope this helps MO

I used a drop tube type as well, I think from speedway. I used some flat stock and welded it to my x member to create a mount for it so it would be easy to remove if need be.

I was thinking the same as both of you.
box the sides and put in a nice Strong trans mount and put a support of some kind just in front of the rear end.
you know the one with the oval loop and 2 holes for the exhaust.
I think art Morrison sells them. could be 3x2 tube.
Will do some more research.
Thanks Guys.
