I'm down to the frame and have the front end off of the Blue Funk. Im in the process of doing a KBS treatment on the frame. The frame is supported in the front by 6 jackstands: 2 on the front near where the shackle attach and 2 under each cross member. That may be Safety Overkill, but I have a Phobia about being crushed.
Anyway, my queston is: Would it be a prudent idea to lower the frame while supporting the engine and tranny? That way, I could get to the areas of the frame where the engine and tranny rest for cleaning treating, and painting.
Would a floor jack with a block of wood be sufficient enough to support the engine and tranny? Or do I need acouple of more jackstands?
Your input will be appreciated.

I'd suggest that you buy, borrow, or rent a cherry picker type engine lift and support it from the top. If you've got the cab off the frame, which I believe you do, it's easy to figure out where the balance point is to do a straight-up lift.
