I have a 235 in the apache 58 with a new rear end 3.38 set .
The clutch now is slipping and i need to replace it .
All parts are stil in the truck
But i have another 235 engine as donor and some parts from another 235 .

They are all different in clutch size and flywheel .

( 9 1/2, 10, 11,inch) I guess.

If interchangeble what would be the best choice ?

And maybe a stupid question but why 3 sizes is there the difference for passenger car and truck engine(heavyer duty) ?

You are right about the different sizes. 9.5" being for car & maybe 1/2ton truck. I used a clutch set off a 1ton 216 on my 235(to keep stomp starter) and I believe it was 11". Make sure you have matching flywheel, pressure plate, & clutch. The bigger clutch requires wider bolt spacing on flywheel.
I used the bigger clutch because I had it & I plan to use my truck to haul stuff. Like engines, tools, car parts, motorcycles, & move everything I own across 2 states. If you don't plan on a lot of hauling, the 9.5" would probably be better for you. Maybe smoother engagement. Search Hayes clutches. That should do you.

now it is time to replace the clutch.
Cant drive the car anymore .
But here is the problem .
Are the fly wheels interchangeble on the crank axle .
Is it so that there is differences in bolt pattern on the crank axle in between 235 engine and 283 engine crank axle ?
I see different clutch sets on the sites from lmc/classicparts and so on .

i live in europe and it takes 14 days to deliver any part and i want it to fit in one time because sending back is not a option

Hy desert, the 283 and 235 flywheels are not interchangeable. You can't go wrong by using the largest clutch you have that fits your 235 flywheels (your 235 flywheels should interchange) Clutches are an item that can be interchanged between different makes of vehicles, have you tried talking to a clutch supplier/rebuilder in your area? I am still not sure what clutch i need .
The two flywheels i have on my work bench have the same casting numbers but the sizes are different .
{3705410}
The size i messure are 10 inch and 11 inch .
If i look at the truck dealers catalogs , i see different building years behind the 11 inch clutch .
How can i be sure before i order
any suggestions ?

Should be a 10" but I have a '60 235 with a 10 1/2" clutch. Might be best to pull it apart before ordering parts. Should be able to have the flywheel resurfaced should you not?
A replacement flywheel needs to be for 12v stater, not eailer 6v.
