I am writing this with 1st hand knowledge as I just went through it last week. Classic parts sells a couple of wiper motors for a 1952 Chevy truck. Being as how I buy AMERICAN made stuff (Yeah, u won't find a Nissan or toyota in my driveway!!) I went for the Newport Engineering unit. Just recently I read a topic on this forum about these motors. It stated the Newport parts #NE4753CCT as the correct motor that would specifically clear the stock choke cable. Not the NE4753CT (1 "C"). So I call Classic parts, get the tech guy on the line to confirm this difference. He told me not to worry, the "CT" model would work fine, I just had to bend the choke cable a little bit and it would work. I thought to myself, that was strange because the first 4 inches or so of my knob bracket/cable holder was solid. This four inches or so extends inside the dash. Not easily bent. I told him of the different part #'s and he acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. Being very close to rude, I might add. Now if u know me, I am very honest. If I am not 100% sure of something I will not hide that fact. I learned long ago that that doesn't get u anywhere. Anyway, he was supposed to know his stuff, I thought, so I ordered the NE4753CT wiper motor. So I received the parts but called Newport just to make sure before I tried to install this thing. You see I trust the word of u Stovebolters, most of the time I get good and corect info here. Linda, at Newport, said the CT model won't work. It would interfere with the ckoke cable. She couldn't believe Classic parts didn't even list the CCT model. She will attempt to change this situation this coming week. I also learned that the knob extension that Newport sells will NOT work on a 52 P/U. It extends the switch so u can use the stock knob. Again, this will not work on a 52. So I hope this helps with any confusion regarding Classic parts and the newport wiper motors that they sell. It SHOULD BE staightened out next week. I would ASSUME that Classic parts will then sell this CCT model. But then again, as a USMC Ordnance officer once yelled in my ear- DO YOU KNOW WHAT ASSUMING MAKES OUT OF YOU AN ME!!!!!?????

Classic Parts of America American Classic Truck Parts
It would be very helpful if the whole company name is used.
Thanks,Tim

Do you know if the unit that can clear the choke cable also clears the original radio then?
I just sent back the older version to Classic Parts, I too think it should be mentioned in the sales literature about the choke.
Also, the sweep was 2/3 of the glass with no slack in linkage, and the speed was dismal. The fast speed was slower that my slow speed on my late model car.
Please let me know if any or all of these issues are resolved on the new version.
Thanks. Classic Parts of America does offer New Port Engineering wipers, but you need to request a New Port Wiper kit. They sell other kits as well. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 | The company name that I am referring to is not even clear on there catalog. It says "classic parts" in the middle of a circle then at the top is "truck parts" and the bottom "rocker" says "of America". So to read it from top to bottom is Truck parts Classic Parts Of America. So you tell me what the name is?

[censored] poor business. The tech guy should know the difference between the two.

So to read it from top to bottom is Truck parts Classic Parts Of America. So you tell me what the name is? it's Classic [Chevy Truck] Parts of America [but "Chevy truck" is rarely used], vs American Classic Truck Parts, which is a primary Stovebolt sponser, and has no "of" or "Chevy" in the name if folks think "Classic Parts" as this thread started, and "American Classic" there's no confusion at all there's still the problem American Classic seems to have another site called plain Classic Truck Parts that doesn't indicate it's the same company, although from the banner on the Stovebolt front page and the banner on the 'new forum' that it leads to, they have the same phone number and the "COMODO" assurance logo in the bottom corner shows the same address as American Classic ... but slightly higher prices ??? ?? go figure they are in a city that has naming issues to. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 78 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 78 | I bought a RainGear system from Pacific Western Design for my '59, and it literally took me all of 30 minutes to install, and it's great. I've had no clearance issues, and it's run smoothely. Granted, in SoCal, it doesn't rain much, but since I installed it, I've already had to use it twice, once in very heavy rain, and it worked like a charm. No more Rain-X and a prayer for me! 1959 Chevy 3/4-ton (pics posted soon)

No hassiles at all. I also returned and received the refund for the heater motor that was also wrong. There are at least a couple of different heater motors and there catalog doesn't have a very detailed description.
