| | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 253 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 253 | In reading about this engine I see that it has the nice design feature of being able to circulate coolant in the engine during warm up before the thermostat opens to avoid hot spots that will cause wear and distortion, a great feature that I'd think all engines would benefit from.
My question is how does this work? I can't find any info about it online. Is it done all internally with two T-stats or externally? Beside the two taps for the heater the T-stat housing has a plug that can be removed, does that mean for the system to work it has to be teed'd into one of the heater hoses and if so which one?
Can anyone post information or diagrams on this? The former owner made some mention of this but I just plain forgot (I'm getting old enough where I need to start writing more stuff down)and I hate to bug him with the small details.
