Hours later I realized the error or my ways and that my 235 is actually a 1954 / 55.
HOPING the set was the same I checked the Felpro# on rockauto and it was indeed different. Called Rockauto and of course, its already shipped. Bugger.
I can return it but have to pay shipping etc...
Can anyone tell me if these sets are remotely compatible or should I just cut my losses and order the correct set.

FEL-PRO Part # FS7276B2  FULL SETS (FS) are for upper and lower engine work combined, usually a complete overhaul.

When you get the set, check it out against your parts. Maybe you can order only the gaskets you need and come out ahead.
You might also try to sell it.
If it was me, I think I would chalk it up to education and return it.

The only thing that sucks about living in Canada is that a lot of times the better deals are down South. So I have them shipped to a border town in NY. (about 1 hour from me) Which means I'll have to go pick it up, repackage and return.

The pan and water pump gasket will depend on if it's the first or second series 1955 235.Usually they send two different oil pan gaskets and water pump gaskets in the kit to fit the first or second series 1955 235 engine.

Pan gasket sits 1940-55 first.
Water pump 1941-55 first.
Valve cover 1937-62 (replacement type).
