The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Installing windows in 49 P/U

I am trying to install the side and rear windows of my 49 Chevy P/U I read online that one needs to tape the rubber into the opening where the window goes and leave it there for a week or so so the rubber has a new memory. My question is when does one cut off the extra rubber and does this look like it is right? I want to post a picture but don't know how can someone help so I can post the pic I have

make sure to pick up a lock strip tool. You can pick them up from Classic Chevy parts or Ebay. The tool is well worth the 10 or 15 bucks. It makes the job a whole lot easier and safer then using a paint can opener.
