It uses two bolts that thread into the pulley and the puller shaft rests against the center. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 | you can use a steering wheel puller. done it thousands of times. make sure you have the right bolts to bolt into the harmonic balancer/pulley, tighten the bolts all the way and make sure their even then tighten center till it comes off.

Sometimes it's necessary to slip a small-diameter deep socket into the center of the balancer so the puller jackscrew doesn't push against the hand crank ears on the balancer instead of the crankshaft. I've seen balancers and pullers broken by people who weren't paying attention to what they were doing.
