Neither of them cover Suburban/Carryall body parts.
On page 585 of my 1929 to 1946 Chevy Parts List they say see Price List Supplement(P & A 24D revised) effective April 30, 1942 for all special parts on the following Special Models.
One of the Special Models is 1935 to 1942 Suburban Carryall Bodies. Two Questions,
Does anybody have a copy of this list referred to above?
Can anyone tell me if the Art Deco Suburbans 1941 to 46 and the AD Suburbans used the same lift gate hinges?

For what years?
It looks to me that no hinges from 47 onwards are used on 46 and earlier.
The differences in the various hinges from 39-46 are also listed.

The Art Deco trucks used at least one style and the AD series used two different styles. 1947/1950 and 1951-1955. Let's see if we can get someone to post a picture of their hinges so we can see the differences. 1941/1947 hinge not the best detail. but I can definitely see the difference between the AD and the art deco series. The part numbers for the upper hinge and link assembly are: 3800497 (LH) and 3800498 (RH). There are also some other part numbers listed for the Hinge Housing, Hinge Pin, and Hinge Reinforcement. The AD Subs had different parts numbers for these hinge pieces, so as has been said, the parts are different. | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 237 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 237 | Thanks for the help everybody, I was hoping they carried the design over.
Obviously the two sets I have are rare and difficult to duplicate.
It would appear that the lift gate pulls away from the body before and then as it lifts up as well.
There are actually two pivot points.
Thanks again to all who had input here. I will be very careful when I open the lift gate. | | | | Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 3 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 3 | Jody,
