I can't see how the originals were attached, really. It almost looks like a tight press fit. There is no set screw on either the originals or the new knobs. I was going to use the new knobs with some cable I already had around. Just need to figure out how the knobs attach.

I use JB Weld to hold a knob on the Ranco heater-valve control-rod used with a deluxe heater. Nothing else worked - the JB Weld is holding up fine. JB Weld has almost never failed me in many odd applications.

I haven't tried to put them back on yet but a little heat will be involved I'm sure. 3M 8101 like I used on the steering wheel repair will be my first choice for glue as it's less permanent than JB weld (though not as cheap).
