I took tons of pictures, but don't have an account at one of the photo sites yet so I can't post them...maybe I'll do that this weekend. Todays rules were as follows; No entry into the yard after 10am. No re-entry into the yard after 10am. Closed from 11:30 til 1pm for lunch, so you're locked in. He's there from 1pm to 2pm for "check out", yard is open to 4pm. If he gets a tow call he runs them after 2pm and your locked in until he returns which he says could be after dark (scare tactic to get you out by 2 so he doesnt have to work late?). He also has a sign that says $25 Museum Lookers Fee. I guess if you [censored] him off and make him stay late and don't buy anything he can charge you a "lookers" fee. He admitted he's "moody" and he does'nt care what people think! He treated us great...I got a gas tank and two pieces of chrome for a very reasonable price. My buddy paid $12 for a 1959 Rambler station wagon back up lens and my son didn't buy anything and wasn't charged a looker fee (it wasn't even brought up). One word of caution, they have a sign says NO cameras, so keep them in your pocket until you're in the clear! The yard is about 80% cars, 15% light duty trucks and the rest buses and bigger trucks. There are 1955-57 Chevy cars in there with dashes, steering wheels and seats still intact. Don't get me wrong, these cars don't have any floors or good sheet metal, but if you need a clip or bracket or T3 headlight there are lots to be found. If you've never been here it's worth to trip. We were there from 8:45 to 2pm and we were moving almost all day and we had to skip past a lot. I'm a junk yard junkie, so any day in a JY is a good day for me. It's like Frankies terain (hilly) but much bigger. If I'm still unemployed on the 20th, I'm going back... My daughter will be here later and I'll get her to help me load some pictures. Sweet, you could get turned around pretty easy. We set some parts down so we didn't have to carry them all day and had a heck of a time finding them again. All of the rows start to look the same by the end of the day! Glad you all enjoyed the pics...that was just a small sample of whats there. Mike B | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . Hey, if anyone finds a pair of 6" long Vise-Grip Plyers. I think they are up on the second hill to the left somewhere near a white 80's Ford van...I lost them two weeks ago while walking around.
Thanks,

This place is huge. Thankfully we were handed a map of where the trucks were located or we would still be looking. This yard has a lot of stuff in it.
It was a blast to hang with Marlow, Hambone, Apart Hillbilly, and Dave
Dave, it was a pleasure meeting you.
I will upload my pics when I get a chance.

That goes for all the rest that had things come up and change your plans. We had a great day and you all were missed. As I told Sweet, even if you don't find anything you are looking for, nothing better than treking through a huge junk yard looking at old iron with buds. Did I mention it was my anniversery today and my wife said go and have fun! So thats what I did. How cool is that. Nice of the Pres to join us for breakfast. Dave L, nice to meet and hang out with you today. Sorry we kept getting separated. I guess it was the lure of the treasures that kept pulling us along. Thanks again, Sweet, Andrew, Dave and Hambone for a fun time today. So when is the next one? I'm ready! The only thing not nice was my trip home. Got about 20 minutes up the road and 29 was shut down. I mean parked. I sat in the truck and listened to the sat. radio for an hour and ten minutes before the road was reopenned. Evidentally, a tractor trailer tried to make a uturn and got hung up across the road in the culvert that divides the road. I got home around 5:45. Oh well, still a good day all in all.
