I now have a salvaged stomp starter that came to me with a battery cable and a cut off piece of 10 ga. wire. Where does the 10 ga. wire go? The other ammeter connection is the junction point for wiring to the voltage regulator "Bat." terminal, the ignition switch, and possibly the headlight switch. When it's wired that way, the ammeter will accurately indicate current flow in and out of the battery. During normal running, the charging system provides current to operate all the electrical demand, and the leftover current goes through the ammeter to recharge the battery.

I got my '48 chev in the middle of a restore and upgrade to 12 volt so I don't know what has been changed if anything. There is a 12 volt regulator and maybe a 12 volt starter. Just trying to figure out the rest of the wiring.
