My '46 GMC had 7.50 x 16's on the front and 9.00 x 16's on the rear. Probably used as a farm truck. I want to go to a radial. Any idea what current size I should be looking at.

Try going with a LT235-85r16. It is about the narrowest yet tallest tire you can get that looks original.

I have 225/75/16's on my truck. They are only slightly shorter(maybe 1/2 an inch) than the 7.50/15's I took off. They look good and don't seem out of place on the old ride.

Anyone know a website that shows dimentions of bias ply tires and radial tires? Could help make tire choice easier.

I run LT 215/85 R16 on my '54 3100. Tallest/narrowest radials that I could find locally. They stand 29-1/2" tall. I keep them pumped up pretty full to give a tall/narrow look. My truck was built at the factory with 6.50/16 (RPO 282M "6.50x16 – 6 ply tires + Hvy Rear Spring"). Standard size was 6.00-16

I assume you are going to replace the rims also? I have the same dilemma as sooner or later I will need to upgrade to radials. Probably go with steel one piece wheels and some sort of tubeless radial. Because I have such a high gear ratio, I would like to go with a larger diameter tire as I can to give me a bit more road speed.

Keep us posted and through in some pics...

Talk to Coker tires, they could steer you into in the right direction.
