A friend told me he had a Chevy inline 6 in a chassis sitting behind his shop so I gave it a look. The engine is sitting in what appears to be a 1 ton chassis. (no body) It is definately a 216/235/261 engine and is mated to a hydramatic transmission. There is a tag on the transmission bellhousing that says "Engine serial number" and is stamped: 0146629 F54L. The area behind the distributor is hard to read, but I think it is stamped ?1901?872. The engine has an updraft intake manifold with a Zenith carb and a rear dump exhaust manifold. Everything appears to be original. Does anyone have any ideas about this engine?
Thanks Ron | | |
