I've decided to run 1/4 inch steel lines to 1/4 wheel cylinders and I dont have power brakes.
I'm having a hard time finding 1/4inch flex lines, the lines that go from the steel lines to the wheel cylinders. The originals where 3/7 and 24", Most Local stores only have 12" 1/4 flex lines and say they dont have 1/4 lines that are 24" or don't know how to find them in the system. Is their another vehicle that has 24" lines 1/4 that i can have them look up, or a place to order them online.
My second question, the guys at NAPA told me that i have to run a small size 3/8 line from the T off the 1/4 master cylinder or the brakes don't work. Is this true? they kept showing me pictures of power brake set up and said they figured its the same for non power brakes, so i'm not sure if i need to switch from a bigger to smaller line or not.
Im running 1/4 lines because i had a bunch of extra steel line to use. | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 45 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 45 | What if you use a coupling to join two 12" lines to make 1 24" line?
Not sure what you mean about the master cylinder. | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 135 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 135 | Could they be referencing the T connection point on your rear axle to the right of the differential? A soft line should go from the hard brake line along your frame to the T connector. From there I run hardlines to the left and right wheels.

That seemed a little odd to me but i don't have much experience in brake lines and the pressure they need. | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 | If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.1965 Chevy C10 | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 | Hy 1949chevrolettruck, The Raybestos numbers for the brake hoses are front BH34466 23 3/4", 5/8" X 18 external thread, 7/16" X 24 internal thread (1/4" brake tube), 7/16" X 20 male, rear BH25629 20 15/16" 7/16" X 20 male, 7/16 X 24 female with clip attachment, hope that helps.
