I'm going to take a stab at this one - 235, full pressure, made in Flint, MI, 1954. Must be one of the truck engines, the "S" doesn't decode to one of the several passenger car codes I found. Maybe someone else can add some more info.

Is there a chance that S is a Z?

F54S
F = Flint manufacturing plant
54 = 1954 year of manufacture
S = Thriftmaster 235 in 4000 series truck
Z = "regular" 235 used in cars & Sedan Delivery

I am trying to decode my engine but I am not having much luck.

I have a 53 GMC. The number stamped by the distributer is: XC459392.

There is another on at the front bottom of the block: 3695408.

Any ideas what type of engine this is ?
