I am trying to remove the key cylinder from the ignition switch on my '50 3600.
I have the one with 2 holes and is a 2 position switch. I have tried sticking the end of a paper clip in both holes and one hole at a time and in the on and off positions. Can someone get me straightened out on this. I know its a simple thing but I just can't seem to get it.

Many have posted here that theirs had to be in the off position. You'll know when you're in the right spot when you feel a spring resistance to the paper clip.

Now anybody got any tips on getting a key cut to the original key number. I found the key number on some of the paper work in the glove box. If the door and glovebox locks haven't been changed from original then I would have the key for everything.

I used to recode a lot of these when I was a parts man. The mechanics wouild bring them in to us and it was part of our job cus we stocked the keys, cylinders and tumblers.
