I know I have seen this somewhere but couldn't find it again. I am trying to remove the key cylinder from the ignition switch on my '50 3600.

I have the one with 2 holes and is a 2 position switch. I have tried sticking the end of a paper clip in both holes and one hole at a time and in the on and off positions. Can someone get me straightened out on this. I know its a simple thing but I just can't seem to get it.

My '38 has to be in the on position when the paper clip is inserted. Many have posted here that theirs had to be in the off position. You'll know when you're in the right spot when you feel a spring resistance to the paper clip.

Great, got it out, thanks for the help guys. Really appreciate the pics DADS50, very helpful.

Now anybody got any tips on getting a key cut to the original key number. I found the key number on some of the paper work in the glove box. If the door and glovebox locks haven't been changed from original then I would have the key for everything.

Get a B10 key blank and take it to a locksmith.

Right on Tiny, the locksmith will be able to read the code.
I used to recode a lot of these when I was a parts man. The mechanics wouild bring them in to us and it was part of our job cus we stocked the keys, cylinders and tumblers.
