Problem is all wheels are square, they are 7.50-16 split rim, can not find tires other than trailer tires. Would like to get good 8 lug rims, radial tires and painted bowtie hub caps for a 3/4 ton, tall order. Can anyone advise on issue. It makes it hard to evaluate truck with my teeth chattering. Thanks

i sent my 8 lug wheels for my 53 3/4 ton to trudesign wheels in denver. he welded new modern "rims" to the 8 lug centers. you can even change the rim size if you want.
a bit pricy but he was very easy to work with and even came up with a wheel when it turned out that of the 4 i sent there were 3 different wheels!

They all had 15" split rim wheels. The 16" ones like your truck has were used into the 70's and 7.50-16 tires are still available. Try here http://powerkingtires.com/Tires/Highway/Bias%20Light%20TruckSome auto tire shops don't/won't work on the 2-piece wheels but you should be able to find a truck or ag tire shop that does. Really, if your original wheels are in good shape, not damaged, bent or rusted, they are plenty safe and not that hard to work on. I believe this also may be an option, the more solutions I find the cloudier it gets, no simple solutions here and I shouldnt expect any. Thanks again. | | |
