My 1959 3800 dually's 18" wheels appear to be 2 piece wheels. Is this correct? The reason I ask is that when I look at what I think is the outer ring on the front wheel, there is no split or break in the ring. So, how can the outer ring (if thats what it is) be removed if there is no split in it?
I know I could figure this out by removing a wheel and trying to break it down, but I use my truck a lot and want to minimize downtime by getting everything figured out before I remove the wheels for sandblasting, painting, and new tires.

Thanks

Thanks

It's probably a 3-piece wheel. Look for a small lock ring that's positioned between the flange that holds the tire on, and the main part of the wheel with the lug bolt holes in it. The 18" wheels on my 59 model 3800 were made that way. There's a small tapered lock ring wedged between the full-circle flange and the rest of the wheel.

Edit: I think I've got a wheel in the barn that's left over from that truck. I'll try to post a pic of it in a day or two. Come get it, and you can have it for a spare. I'm 7 miles north of the Alabama line near I-65.

Thanks Hotrod. I never would have guessed there was a bolter this close by. I live in New Market, which is northeast of Huntsville.

Hotrod Lincoln is right. If they are the stock wheels, then they are 3 piece.
