I can't get my new lighter to work. It came with two wires...one black (connects to the rear of the lighter) and one white (responsible for powereing the light bulb in the lighter). I got the light bulb to light. I can't get the lighter to heat (no power?). Where do I hook the black wire too? I thought it was a ground wire. Either it is and I have a bad ground or it's not and I have no idea how to attach it to power anywhere. As always, your help is much appreciated. Thanks!

The white wire should connect to dash lighting. Ground is normally handled by the housing through the dash itself. If the black wire is connected to the side of the housing, you may have to provide your own red wire that connects to the center rear of the lighter socket.
Most lighter sockets I have seen either have a stud in the rear center, or have a 90 degree male spade terminal bolted to this stud with a nut (sticking straight out the rear). This allows a female terminal to simply plug into the back of the socket for hook up.

The black wire, which is coming from the rear center of the lighter will be connected to the fuse block...but how? I understand I will have a fuse inserted in the black wire between the lighter and the fuse block. But how do I make the connection to the fuse block? I don't have any male terminals coming out of the block. All I have is one space left in the block for any size blade fuse that I want to put in there.
