I am planning on replacing my 1950 3100 dash with an '01 or newer silverado dash and interior, has anyone done this or know any details? I plan on buying a wrecked newer truck and gutting everything. im planning on basically having a newer model truck with a 1950 shell... i know i will have to modify the dash to make it fit since the '50 is narrower than new silverados. i plan on buying donor truck with a 5.3/4l60e and 10 bolt rearend if possible. i want to later upgrade to 6.0 engine. if i get whole donor truck i will have all the wiring needed and basically all parts for swap. any ideas or pics?

Lots of infos about the LS engines/trans/electronics..., on LS1Tech.com, there is a chapter called Conversions and Hybrid. These engines have been installed in everything!

Well Spotbiltxo ive seen some images online where people have installed complete corvette interiors and stuff but i do expect that to be out of my price range. im a welder by trade and if i get a decent wrecked truck i could end up with just about everything i need in the price range of $2000-$6000 depending on what year of truck i get my hands on. If i can get a truck thats been in a rollover then ill most likely be able to use everything off of it which means ill definitely be stripping it bare. im really looking at building something different than the average person and ill be taking my time. i dont have any money in the '50 itself since it was given to me several years ago but i do have to fight with my wife for the allowance....

wave1957 that is a great website ill have to look at that section since there is so much to read over there.

I cant answer any questions, BUT !!, I will be following along !! I have a '99 Suburban that I was thinking of putting a "60s Fleetside body on it. Since my Sub does not have an engine, I was thinking of putting in a slightly older TBI to make things a bit simpler yet still have all the modern goodies.

In such a khonstant state of khaos I dont know what project to work on first.
