eBay listing 310359601779 is a series of photos which claim to have been taken in 1956. They show a burb work truck with CA plates. It's a 4 door. Any ideas?

Boy, that's a good looking rig there. I wonder where it is now? crushed and melted I guess.

Unless the image has been reversed, it's a right hand drive vehicle as well. The GMC badge should be reading wrong if the image was reversed.
Wonder what all in in the front seat area? It looks good now but if the doors were closed, I think you'd see a bit of ugliness in a wide pillar between the door window frames. Probably used front door with little modification. There are no ribs on the rear door jambs, so that's different. You can see vent windows on the rear doors.

i don't think that's a vent you see on the rear door but a split as in the slider that might have been on the burb in that position, and the reason there's no ribs on the back edge is that the door is shortened [so no rollup window] .... also the ribbed hood shows it as a 57, and the pic that's been reversed is the one from the rear, the others show it is a right drive truck, with the gas filler on the left as usual but opposite the driver as on the vehicles built by GM Canada for export .... as joe says, 3rd party modification, or done by Holden in AU [for military probably, as a radio truck]
