Hello,
Im looking into changing out my bench seat out for bucket seats. The gas tank will be moved. Has anyone done this and what vehicle do I need to buy the "BUCKET" seats from? Thanks j

Someone here did this with seats from a Buick. I believe the seats also had, built in, 3 point seat belts.

I put a 60/40 split bench seat with built in seat belts, in my 51
5 window pickup, from 2001 Buick 4 door sedan. If I was to do this again I would get seats from a 2 door so I could tilt the seat ahead. Looks real good and fits good. They are powered,ajustable forward,reverse, up & down. Very comfortable. Hope this info. will help. Good luck

2001 Buick Lesabre and i believe that other GM cars have the same seats. i love them they have the built in shoulder harness and a console and heated seats. look in my photobucket and see the pictures. also Wilbur on the site has the same set up. BTW other years will work just look around.

I knew it was a Buick. I didn't know the year.

I used a 60/40 bench/bucket seat from a 1990ish Chevy pickup.
It fits great!
Almost any bucket seats will fit.

I used 2000 chevy suburban seats in my 49 burb. They have built in belts and are 6 way adjustable

Having a young family, I wanted seats with built-in seatbelts and latch system for child seats, so I installed 2003 Chevy Silverado seats in my '50 truck. I still have the gas tank behind the seats. There isn't enough width in the truck for both seats and the center console, so I left the console out and have a small space between the seats. If my ship ever comes in, I'll build a center console and have the seats reupholstered to match the truck. Don't know if I have pictures on my webshots page (haven't been on there in a couple years) but I can send pics if you'd like to see them.

I put BMW 600 seats in my 1971 (see http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums...ction=view&current=LPX_02037275a.jpg ) and Toyota, I think, buckets in my 1969 Panel. Almost anything can be done. Mounting is the big problem. You'll probably have to make or buy seat risers. Be sure that the seats are mounted well and that they won't pull out of the floor in an accident. I'd measure the height of your stock seat and try to mount the new seats close to that height. Also think about seat belts. I prefer belts that mount to the truck and not to the seats.

We B Old - I just got some seats out of a Buick too - But I was wondering about the side airbags. . .Did yours have them and if so, did you disable them? Mine have airbags mounted in the side of the seatbacks. I don't want to be probing wires trying to figure out the power- and heated- seats and have one of those things go off in my face!

Any thoughts?
