Does anyone have the part numbers/manufacturers for the front inner, outer, and seal for a 1955 Second 3/4 ton? I've searched and couldn't come up with any.
Thanks,
Kim

Thanks Ron, the Timken site is of no help and the local Napa place is only able to give me info for the original ball bearing type. I was hoping someone who had done the switch would recall the part numbers.

the bearing guys can't hekp you because they just take the dimensions of the ball type and try to find an exact match in roller, and there isn't one, only some things "close"

from previous discussions here the numbers for the 1/2T TF trucks are supposed to be these:

Inner seal: National #6064
Inner bearing: 909052R MBS (Japan)
Outer bearing: 909001R MBS (Japan)
[but if you check/compare dimensions, they're slightly different]
I'm not sure if the 1/2 and 3/4 are the same, but I'd think so

Most bearing specialty places will give you a bearing specification catalog. Get out the dial caliper and do your own homework, instead of wasting the bearing guy's time. If the inside diameter of the bearing cone fits the spindle, and the OD of the bearing cup is a snug fit into the hub, the other dimensions aren't terribly important. A slightly different thickness on either part won't be a deal-breaker. If the cup doesn't fit the hub exactly, LocTite stud and bearing mount can take up minor diameter differences, up to two or three thousandths. There should be no difference in the seal application, since it only contacts the hub and the spindle, not the bearings. 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton bearings will probably be different, but I haven't had any hands-on experience with either one lately.

I bought a set of taper roller bearings for the front of my 58 model 38. I think I got it from LMC or something. It's out there in one of the parts magazines. I don't know if it is a differnt size for your 3600.

All the bearings came from Japan, but don't think they are junk because of that. Japan makes only high quality stuff now a days... all the junk is from China and Korea.

I probably should have mentioned that my truck is a daily driver and I'm trying to avoid the downtime of removing the bearings and matching them up.
Thanks Frank, Bill and jhaa_lives, that was a definite help.
Ron, did I ask for someone here to sell me a set?
Kim
