I have looked through the search engine and found some information but I need a couple of more questions answered.

To determine if a Canadian three ton truck has a '270' engine, are the numbers '270' are punched in the number sequence on the boss aft of the distributor? The truck I saw had no typical letter (X, C, XC, G) to start the sequence, nor does it match the number on the door post... please help.

Will this '270' engine bolt in to a Canadian 1949 Chev one ton that had a '216'? What modifications are required?

A 270 will have 270 for the first 3 digits of the serial number.

The GMC engine is longer than a Chevy engine so you will need to move the radiator to make the swap but it has been done.

I believe Canadian trucks DO have the engine number on the data plate.
