What is the purpose of the washer on the gas line ? The washer can not slide over the brass fittings...

I'd say the washer is not factory and added by someone attempting to cover the hole in the body. I would think a rubber grommet would be the correct part.

The line is a replacement part from American Classic Truck Parts... GTN-24 Gas Tank Lower Flex Hoses ...

Not sure if I ordered it or they sent me the wrong line, bought it quite a long time ago... Looks like it serves me no purpose so, I will get Mr. Dremel to take care of it...
