I fixed it all up, because it was better then what was on the truck. When I went to install I found it was about 1 1/2" too tall. Everything else was good. Because the bigger trucks had larger tires, they made the fenders, grill and other support pieces larger.

Repaired it some, had it sandblasted, DP 90, acrylic urethane primer surfacer, and then a black metalflake. It's shocking to me that GM actually manufactured such similar looking parts in such slightly larger sizes to accommodate these larger trucks. I mean to the un-trained eye all of the stuff was identical. So not the case. The front clip on my '50 4100 is in pristine condition. I am fortunate.

1950 4100 - unrestored and driven weekly for almost no reason at all.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
