I've swapped out my 216 with a '57 235 and now realize that the accelerator to carb linkage assemblies are different (accelerator rod to bell crank longer is one example.) Do any of you have some photos of how you resolved this situation that you can share? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I did a search and came up with several old threads pertaining to this situation, and read them all with much appreciation for the solutions offered. Some of the input dealt with different setups than mine, including Fenton headers, 261cid, dual carbs, etc. The solutions ranged from bending, welding, threaded rods, moving the pivot point, Lokar cable, cutting the toe board, and everything in between. Some of the postings go back 5 years or so, prior to the digital camera era, which is part of the reason I'm creating a new post on this topic.
My '57 235 is stock out of a car, I suppose, as it had a auto (Power Glide) tranny attached when I got it. What's the feeling about the simplest and most elegant (often the simplest) solution? Since its been done before I would rather not reinvent the wheel and don't mind asking.
Here I am up at 4 AM pondering this situation and realizing that my "on the road in two weeks" is being pushed out a bit further.
Thanks,
Don
