Anyone have any good resources you can share about rebuilding the 1bbl carb from my '64 C10? I'm SURE it's not going to be TOO difficult... I did the carb on my '78 Camaro. Just thought it'd be nice to have some additional info before I get into it.

Need to reseal it, and replace the accelerator pump.

Its about the most basic & simple carb you can do. Make sure the power valve piston goes in the hole & knocks the ball off the seat. There is a tube across the top of the air horn with a plug in the end. Make sure the plug doesn't blow out when you blast it with air. Make sure there is a passage in the base gasket to let vacuum get to the hole in the bottom of the carb.

Right on. Thanks! I rebuilt that Camaro carb with no instructions, and it turned out okay... But, I've since reached a point in my life where I try to get a little insight before tackling things like that, now.

I will also rebuild my '65 1bbl carb this winter. Where will you get your rebuild kit from? Do you plan to soak the carb first? I think you will start your before I start mine, so any tips you can pass along will be appreciated.

Just got my kit, yesterday, from Carquest. I was slightly apprehensive, at first... But then, after reading the installation instructions, it all came rushing back to me. This rebuild WILL be a piece of cake! Not entirely sure WHEN I'll rebuild it... But, I'll gladly post what I can about my experience. And, if I happen to think about it, perhaps I'll post a picture or two of the process itself.

I rebuilt my rochester model B in the spring, was a piece of cake. Took a couple of pics as I took it apart for reference, which helped on the reassembly. Pay careful attention to the casting number on the base of the carbs, as there were differences in them. I had a 1961 carb on the 63, and there was a difference in the kit. I have the correct 1963 carb on there now, and retained the earlier carb for a back up. I have also seen variations in the size of the main throttle valve, I beleive that some were slightly larger tha others, but I do not know specifics. I would suggest that you run the numbers on the base of the lower portion of the carb and order the corresponding kit instead of just ordering the kit for the year truck you own.

The kit I received from Carquest was designed to fit multiple similar 1bbl Rochester carbs. Kit comes with extra parts to use on the other applications. Great exploded view of the carb, great parts listing to identify all the parts (included and on the carb), and specifications for adjusting each carb variation.

Not EXACTLY sure which of these part numbers are the one that Carquest uses, but the 2 nubers listed on my kit were: 492 & V11206.
