Guys, Need some advice on what to do in what order on rebuilding the stock front end of my 57 1/2 ton.

I have brackets on order from Buffalo Enterprises to convert to 6 lug disc, so I will be also adding a power booster under the floor and running all new lines. Still not sure what to do with bearings, convert to taper rolle or stick with the original or but new original style. The truck is probably never going to go more than 50 miles in a day.

I am planning to replace the original tie rod ends, any need to also replace the rod?

What else should I do when I am 'down there' in the front end? Eventually thinking of power steering, but that can wait...

Every conversion kit says to change to the roller bearings. I believe I would. There is no need to replace the tie rod unless it is bent or the threads are messed up. Check the king-pins. If you change to power steering you will change the steering gear & drag link so don,t bother with them unless they are real bad.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

So Roller Bearings and tie rod ends are all I need to worry about?

Anyone know where to get quality roller bearings, as I cannot find anyone that is not suppling off-shore manufactures of unknown name or specifications.
