I just replaced the road draft tube on my 1960 C10 283 v8 with a PCV kit from Eckler's. The reason was to eliminate the oil smell but now Crank Case smoke is constantly coming from the Oil Fill Breather as if the carburetor isn't drawing in the fumes. I connected the rubber grommet into the draft tube opening and the PCV onto the back of the Rochester 2 Jet Carb (where there was a plug.) There are no additional breathers on the Valve Covers. What is causing this problem and how can I solve it

With the engine running and the hose to the pcv disconnected I see the crankcase smoke coming out of the hose but it also is coming out of the breather but not as much.... and if I take off a breather plug on the valve cover, it comes out of there also! The oily fumes are also causing my oil fill breather to drip oils. Also it

I connected the rubber grommet into the draft tube opening ... is that where the pcv comes from? not familiar with the Eckler kit, but the factory setup comes from the road draft hole to replace the tube .... have you checked compression? maybe too much blowby for the system to handle?
