Looked thru several pages on this issue and found no answers, so please be patient with me. I had my gas tank repaired by TankRenu. They applied a "plastic/rubber" coating inside and out, except where filler neck, sending unit, and supply line attaches. I bought a new sending unit from JC. Before installing the unit to tank, I attached sending unit wire and turned on the ignition switch - gauge went to full with float at empty position. I touched sending unit to seat riser and gauge read empty. So I installed unit to tank and attached a ground wire from unit flange to bare surface on seat riser. I figgerd all was good at that point, finished the install. I put a couple gallons gas in the tank and headed to gas station to gas up - and gauge is stuck on empty. I notice when I turn on ignition, needle on gauge will jump from "nothing" to the "E" mark on gauge - but will not move past that. Do I need to ground at a different location? Any advice would be great.
