Ok so I am planning on lowering a 1964 chevy longbed c-10. It has rear coils and leaf springs. If i put 4" drop lowering coils in the rear would i have to also remove the leaf springs or can i leave them and it will still lower?

If you are talking about the overload half-leaf springs on the back of the axle, yes, if you lower it they will have to come off or be modified.

The only way to lower a rear end is let the air out of the tires or put smaller tires on it. Unless you are not talking about the rear axle? wink

Good point about the bricks, and I thought I had thought of everything....

Seriously though, you will want to check your driveshaft angles once at the new ride height. You may need to correct pinion angle. Then centerline of the pinion and centerline of the engine/ transmission should be parallel for a one piece driveshaft.

This explains all the driveshaft questions you will ever have:

Bag it and notch the frame, The bags are cheap if you don't include a onboard compressor.

i dont know how to weld so bags are out of the question right now..but i use to have 4" lowering coils for the rear of my truck but i ended up putting a total of 6" drop on the rear of my truck with 3"drop coils in front..so i am givn my Gpa my 4" drop coils instead..so all he has to do is buy or cut the front ones..thats all smile thanks guys
