I need to put tires on my '64 C10, and I want to go with something taller (for both clearance and more top end). I believe I've got 15X8 wheels that I'll be using. With no lift, will 33X12.50R15 tires fit on this 2-wheel drive? If so, both front and rear?!? Any issues?

I have 255/70/15's ( on 8" wheels ) on the rear of my '65 C10 step side ! Previously had 275/60/15's on rear but they were really close to fender ( inner & outer ). I have seen the size tire you are asking about on the rear of similar trucks but they had little clearance ! Don't really know but doubt they would fit very well on the front .With that size tire on the front , power steering would very much be a necessity !

A 235/75R15 is a lot narrower and not as tall as the 33x12.50R15. Here are the spec.'s

235/75 R15
Section width is 9.4 inches
Height is 28.9

33x12.50R15
Section width is 12.4 inches
Height is 32.7"

On my short step I am running 33x12.50R15 on the rear but I widened the bed 4", check out my build thread below, See post #12.

Thanks for the input! What I'm REALLY after is raising it up slightly, for some additional ground clearance. I don't want to bottom out on a mild 2-track trail... And, IF for some reason I break down, it'd be nice to actually be able to get under the truck without jacking it up. My current tire height is approx. 26-27". Any recommendations on a taller tire, with decent handling, that runs fairly inexpensive?!? I'm not concerned if it's an LT or anything like that... The heaviest thing I'll be hauling is my motorcycle.

About the biggest 15" that will fit without lifting the suspension or clearancing the fenders will be a 31x10.50x.15. A 32x11.50x15 might clear the front, but the rear may need some trimming or a slight lift to clear the fender lip. Both sizes will be fine on 8" width wheels.
You mention inexpensive, you're not going to find that in a good truck tire these days.

A 245/60/15 is only a 26.6" tall tire, same as the current tire being run. 30" tires are about the tallest you'll get in a P Metric, those would be a 265/75/15, which are very difficult to get and expensive when you do find them.

Thanks for the numbers Hot Rod John...the tire I was comparing to was the 255/70R15. Do the 31x10.5R15 give any clearance problems w/turning on the front end?

I just bought a 64 longbed fleetside. It has 33/12.5/15's on it now. Don't have any clearance problems with stock suspension. They do fill up the wheel wells though.

Right on. Is it a 2WD? Running that same size on the front, too? If so, any rubbing when turning?!?

Yes it is 2WD. Same tires all the way around. Only driven a little, but no issues with rubbing.
