Go to the "Gallery" of this website, & you'll see a catagory for 1947- 1955 1st series, & a catagory for 1955 2nd series -1959. A '55 1st series truck looks like the Advance Design '47-'54 models, & a '55 2nd series truck looks like the Task Force'56-'59 body style trucks.

I can tell you what my truck weighs...

I have a 1953 Chevy 6400 flat bed (so it would be a 1st series). I weighed it over at the local cedar mill when I bought it. It weight 6900 lbs with a homemade bed and had half a tank of gas in it.

I also found a webpage that has some specs for the Chevy vehicles (it also has some service manuals and the like). 1954 Chevy specs

My 47' 2 ton weighed 7200 lbs with hoist, Over drive, and flat bed with headach rack. Just had it weighed for farm tags.

A picture of the front of the truck would work. 1954 was the transitional year between the Advanced Design and the Task Master trucks and there was two different body styles that year.

First Series

Second Series
