How can I dtermine which, and if you don't know, Can you please just tell me the weight of them both? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 | Go to the "Gallery" of this website, & you'll see a catagory for 1947- 1955 1st series, & a catagory for 1955 2nd series -1959. A '55 1st series truck looks like the Advance Design '47-'54 models, & a '55 2nd series truck looks like the Task Force'56-'59 body style trucks. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 33 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 33 | I can tell you what my truck weighs... I have a 1953 Chevy 6400 flat bed (so it would be a 1st series). I weighed it over at the local cedar mill when I bought it. It weight 6900 lbs with a homemade bed and had half a tank of gas in it. I also found a webpage that has some specs for the Chevy vehicles (it also has some service manuals and the like). 1954 Chevy specs

I still can't figure out how to determine if it is a 1st or 2nd series. Will it help if I give yall the VIN? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 33 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 33 | A picture of the front of the truck would work. 1954 was the transitional year between the Advanced Design and the Task Master trucks and there was two different body styles that year. First Series Second Series
